Recruitment Resourcer vs Outsourced Sourcing

Published August 2026 · SourceRade Team

Agency leaders regularly face the question of whether to hire internally or use outsourced support for the delivery work behind their consultants. Both models have merits, and the right answer depends on workflow predictability, management capacity and how the work integrates with existing systems.

What a recruitment resourcer does

An internal recruitment resourcer works inside the agency, sits with or near the consultants, learns the agency's systems and culture directly and handles sourcing, research and administrative delivery tasks as part of the permanent team.

What outsourced sourcing does

An outsourced sourcing partner works externally against an agreed brief, process and output standard. The agency provides the brief, the search parameters and the systems access where necessary. The external team delivers output to the agreed format.

Decision checklist

  • How predictable is the weekly sourcing volume?
  • Do you have management bandwidth to onboard and develop an internal hire?
  • Are the sourcing tasks repeatable enough to brief externally?
  • Do you want someone physically present or is remote delivery acceptable?
